Panel: Protecting our Fragile Watersheds and Soil Quality

What can we do to find solutions for protecting our fragile watersheds and soil quality?  The Oneota Film Festival has invited several leaders in the area of water quality, soil conservation, legislation, and farming to lead us in a discussion following the film screenings of King Corn and Big River, Saturday, January 23 from 1:15 - 4:00pm in Valders 206. 

Panel participants include:  John Beard, farmer and District 16 State Representative; Jon Gisleson, farmer and Board member of the Conservation District of Iowa; John Rodecap, farmer and water quality expert Iowa State Extension Service (retired); Tom Murray and Chris Wasta with NE Iowa Driftless Chapter-Trout Unlimited; Tim Yager, District Manager, McGregor District, Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge and Driftless Area National Wildlife Refuge; Larry Reis, naturalist with Winneshiek County Conservation Board; Lee Zieke Lee, Winneshiek County Conservation board member; Jon Gisleson, Michell County Farmer, Board Member-- Conservation Districts of Iowa, and Iowa Learning Farm; Ann Mansfield -- Co-Convener and Project Coordinator, Kellogg Foundation's Food and Fitness Initiative; Paul Berland, Projects Director with Northeast Iowa Resource Conservation and Development (NE Iowa RC& D).
