Winneshiek Energy District is a new (2010) local non-profit organization dedicated to promoting stewardship and sustainability in Winneshiek County, Iowa, by focusing on all things energy, with all individuals and organizations willing to partner, as far as our time and energy (and funding) allows.
Use of the Food Pantry has grown significantly since it first opened in 1996. The Food Pantry was created to provide food, personal care, and household supplies to a growing number of people in the community who lacked these resources. By winter of 2000, the Food Pantry served 84 clients in three months. Now over 500 clients per month are being served.The Food Pantry is located in the Parish Hall of First Lutheran Church. It is open to anyone who requests its services. Clients will be asked for their name, address, identification, and number of members in their family. No other documentation is necessary.
The Northeast Iowa Peace and Justice Center provides a space for education and networking; creating initiatives to promote peace, human rights, and social and environmental justice.

The Pepperfield Project is dedicated to helping individuals of all backgrounds improve their quality of life through education programs that will teach them how to develop and enhance their relationship with food, cooking and gardening. Leading by example, they help people experience the joy and satisfaction that comes with hands-on food preparation, gardening and other agrarian based skills.
The Winneshiek Farmers Market in Decorah is an outdoor market that operates Wednesdays (3-6pm) and Saturdays (8-11am) from May 1 through October 30. Special indoor markets occur in November and December. Frequent the market, and you'll encounter up to 40 vendors, live music, and a colorful selection of produce, crafts, baked goods, meat and dairy products.
Decorah Rotary and Rotary International is an organization of service-minded individuals around the world who are working to make the world a better place with their efforts in water and sanitation, basic education and literacy, maternal and child health, disease prevention and treatment, economic and community development, and peace and conflict resolution.
